Your software,looked after.
Your developer moved on, or your agency went quiet. We take over the code, keep it secure and running, and ship improvements every month on one fixed retainer you can cancel any time.
Tell us about your softwareWho this is for
- Your developer or agency has moved on and nobody else knows the code.
- Small changes take weeks to come back, and every quote is a surprise.
- You are not sure when the software last had a security update, or whether the backups work.
- The system runs the business and you want someone accountable for it.
What the retainer covers
One fixed monthly price, and one engineer who knows your code.
- Fixes and security updates
- Bugs fixed, dependencies and frameworks kept current, before they become an emergency.
- Hosting, backups and monitoring
- Backups that are tested, alerts when something fails, and someone who acts on them.
- New features every month
- We agree what to build each month and ship it, so the software keeps getting better rather than just older.
- Small changes without a quote
- Copy, a field, a report tweak: send it through and it gets done.
- The same engineer
- Direct access to the person working on your code, not an account manager.
- Everything in your name
- Code, hosting and accounts stay yours. If you leave, you take it all with you.

Intro call
What the software does, who built it and what worries you about it.
Health check
With read-only access we review the code and hosting and give you an honest written report, including what we would fix first.
Handover
Access, deploys and accounts move into your name and our hands, with the software staying up the whole time.
Settle in
Monitoring and backups go on, urgent fixes get done and the code gets documented.
Improve every month
A fixed retainer with features agreed each month. Cancel any time.
Five ways to get it built.
Every option has a place. This is how they compare on the four things that decide whether a project goes well.
A traditional agency
- What it costs
- Hourly billing or a large retainer, often open-ended
- How fast
- Months of discovery, design and handoffs
- Who owns it
- Usually you, sometimes with licences attached
- When it breaks
- A ticket in someone else's queue
An offshore team
- What it costs
- A low hourly rate plus your time managing it
- How fast
- Depends on how precisely you can write the brief
- Who owns it
- Read the contract closely
- When it breaks
- Overnight, across time zones
Off-the-shelf software
- What it costs
- Cheap to start, then per seat for as long as you use it
- How fast
- Live today, if it fits
- Who owns it
- The vendor
- When it breaks
- The vendor's roadmap, not yours
Building it yourself with AI tools
- What it costs
- Cheap to start, expensive to fix later
- How fast
- Days to a demo
- Who owns it
- You, along with every risk in it
- When it breaks
- You, at 2am
Rootech
- What it costs
- A fixed price, agreed before we start
- How fast
- Most builds live in two to four weeks
- Who owns it
- You, outright
- When it breaks
- The engineer who built it
What every project comes with.
Written into every proposal, not just this page. We reply within one working day.
- A fixed price before you sign.
- Scope and price are agreed in writing up front. Small changes along the way are absorbed; anything bigger is flagged as a separate decision, never slipped onto an invoice.
- Bug fixes included after launch.
- If something we built does not work the way we agreed, we fix it at no cost. That is our problem, not a new job.
- You own all of it.
- The code, the domain, the hosting accounts and the data are in your name. Host it anywhere, hire anyone to work on it, pay nobody a licence fee.
- A proper handover.
- Code, documentation, credentials and a walkthrough for your team. Nothing lives only in our heads.
- No lock-in.
- Ongoing support is optional, month to month, and you can cancel any time. We would rather keep you because the software keeps getting better.
Software we have shipped.
Production systems with real users, payments and data. Each one opens the full brief.

What if the code is a mess?
The health check tells you how much of a mess, in plain English. Most code can be maintained and improved. If part of it cannot, we will say so and give you a fixed price for rebuilding just that part.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. The retainer is month to month and you can cancel any time. Your code, hosting and accounts stay in your name, so leaving is as easy as revoking our access.
What does it cost?
A fixed monthly price based on the size of the system and how much you want built each month. You get the figure after the health check, before you commit.
Will the software go down during the handover?
It should not. We take over alongside whatever is running now, and only move deploys and hosting once we have tested that we can.
Do you work on any technology?
We work on the mainstream web and mobile stacks most business software is built on. If yours is unusual, the health check will tell you whether we are the right people, and we will say so if not.
Tell us about your software.
A few lines is plenty. We read every one and reply with an honest view of what we would do, including when the answer is not us.
