Carbon capture, explained in a click, from the smokestack to the well.
An interactive e-learning web experience for the International CCS Knowledge Centre, walking visitors through pre-combustion capture, post-combustion capture, transport and storage with animated video and hands-on interactives.
The brief
The Knowledge Centre exists to make carbon capture and storage understood, and the process is hard to picture from a PDF. They needed a self-guided experience that runs in a browser or on a show-floor screen, plays as a single story or lets a visitor jump straight to the part they care about, and keeps them touching things instead of reading.
What we built
- 01
A Unity WebGL experience delivered through the browser, with an animated intro and a menu that plays everything end to end or opens any one stage of the CCS chain.
- 02
Four chapters, pre-combustion capture, post-combustion capture, transport and storage, each mixing explainer video with arrow-guided interactives the visitor drives themselves.
- 03
Built to run unattended on a kiosk as well as on a laptop, with big targets, a skip-to-menu escape hatch and no instructions needed.
What it does now
Visitors follow the CO2 from capture to permanent storage at their own pace, on the web or on the show floor, without a presenter in the room.
